An occasional Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike series! It's an East vs West style format, if you're confused as to what that is- here's the TLDR:

  • Sign up and lock-in a character during registration.

  • After check-ins, seeding will commence based on character and player strength.

  • Players are split into two equal teams of alternating seeds.

  • The two teams engage in a Single-Elimination team battle where lower seeds play first.

Rules & Info

Tournaments have rules, thats just a given. This is the page for the rule set that OCE III tournaments run by.NOTE: Some tournaments have extra rules that do not show up here. They will be marked on the sign up page.

Region Lock

All OCE III Tournaments are region locked to the Oceania region (Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands). If you are found breaking this region lock (with a vpn, glitch, etc.) you will be disqualified, if you keep breaking the region lock you will be banned from any future OCE III Tournament.

Player Numbers

On occasion, tournament entry numbers might be low. If the player count is low, then the tournaments may have to run slightly differently. If there is 6 players or more, then the tournament will run as usual. If there is 5 players or less, the tournament will run as a Round Robin, where everyone plays each other in a FT2 (FT3 in VSAV).If there is 2 players or less, the tournament will instead be a FT10 exhibition. If there is only 1 player registered, the tournament will not run.

Format

Games will be played first to 2 (best out of 3), until top 3, where it will become first to 3 (best out of 5), for all OCE III games. (with some exceptions.) Despite this being here, please always check the description of the Challonge pages to prevent confusion.

No-Shows

There will be a 5-10 minute dq timer for all tournaments. If there is no sign of you playing your games, or your opponent tells me you are not here, the timer will start, at the end of the timer, if you still have not shown up, you will be disqualified. If you repeatedly no-show the tournaments, you will be asked to check in before the tournament.

Crashing & Connection Issues

If a crash happens during tournament, replay the set from the scores from before.
E.g. The game crashes when you're 1-1, with one round won, the game will continue from 1-1, with no rounds won.
If another crash happens during the same set, then you will have to forfeit a game to your opponent. If you are found out to be alt-f4ing, it will immediately be treated like a second crash, and you will have to forfeit a game to your opponent.
If any connection issues arise during tournament, please make sure to report it to a TO.
If you know the issues are on your end, you can either disqualify yourself or forfeit the whole set to you opponent.
However, if both player believe their connection is fine, they will be required to connection test. The website OCE III will use for connection tests are packetlosstest.com.
Please make sure the setting are as highlighted in the red circles

Duration set to 60 seconds, Server set to Australia.

When the connection test is done, please send a screenshot like below to the TO

Should be no packets lost all together.

Once the results from both players have been sent, the person with more packet loss will be disqualified from tournament, with the person with less packet loss moving on.
If both players have the same amount of packet loss, two outcomes could happen.

  • If both players on the same connection type (Wifi-Wifi/Ethernet-Ethernet), the set will proceed like usual.

  • If the players have a different connection type from eachother (Wifi-Ethernet), the person with ethernet will move forward, and the person on wifi will forfeit their games.

Stream Games

Please check the bracket to check if you have a stream game or not before you proceed to play. It will be displayed as a black box above the set with the text "Stream" in it.If you do have the stream game text above your set, please refrain from playing your games until you are called up.Please note that round robin tournaments will all be streamed <6 players.Fightcade games and Non-Fightcade games work differently when it comes to stream games, so please read.

Fightcade

Third Strike, VSAV, etc.If it is your turn to play a stream game, the tournament organizer will call you up like this in the fightcade chat."@Player 1* @Player 2*, you're up, ft#, glhf"
*The names for this are placeholders, in a tournament they will be actual usernames.
After being called out like this, challenge your opponent, and get into the game, please wait a short bit in character select to allow time for the host to spectate without missing anything, after that, play like you usually would.

Non-Fightcade

RPCS3, SF6, etc. With any Non-Fightcade game, you will have to give your username to the tournament organiser beforehand. There will also be a field on the sign up page to do this to minimise disruptions. If it is your turn to play a stream game, the tournament organizer will call you up like this in the respective discord channel."@Player 1 @Player 2, you're up, ft#, glhf"
When called up, join the lobby as soon as possible
